Hiking in Mallorca

One of the best ways to discover Mallorca's natural charm is to embark on a hiking route through coast and mountains.

Mallorca's breathtaking scenery is best enjoyed on foot, passing viewpoints, exploring hidden coves and traversing the mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana.


In this article we present different options for hiking itineraries in Mallorca that you can do from our luxury retreat The Lodge Mallorca. Venture out on routes designed for different levels of difficulty, for fans of intense hikes or those who prefer a gentle stroll.


Hiking in Mallorca from The Lodge


At The Lodge we offer you three routes on the same estate with different distances and levels of difficulty, which can be done in the company of our expert guide.


The routes last between two and four hours and take place on weekdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Along the way you will find two magnificent viewpoints where you can stop to take photos or enjoy a picnic.


Other hiking routes in Mallorca


Excursion to La Trapa from Sant Elm


This is one of the most typical hiking routes in Mallorca and a route of great scenic value. This itinerary will allow you to discover the charming fishing village of Sant Elm, with views of the Tramuntana lighthouse and the islet of Es Pantaleu. Take the opportunity to sample the local Mallorcan gastronomy in one of the village's restaurants.


The tour ends at La Trapa, an old monks' refuge that is now in ruins. This place full of history offers incredible views of the island of Sa Dragonera and the Cala d'en Basset and its tower.


The route has a duration of 5.5 kilometres of low technical difficulty, which can be completed in 90 minutes.


Pedra en Sec Route


This is an eight-stage route of which you can do one or several sections. The trail runs a total of 183 kilometres through the Serra de Tramuntana, passing through picturesque villages and along the coast.


If you are looking for easy hiking routes in Mallorca, we recommend the one from Pont Romà to Port de Pollença, which takes about 1.5 hours, or the one from Pollença to Puig de Maria, which takes about 50 minutes.


For the more adventurous, the route from Esporles to Can Boi allows you to visit the villages of Esporles, Valldemossa and Deià in a journey of about 8 hours and 23.1 kilometres.


Route from Sóller to Fornalutx


With this spectacular hiking route in Mallorca you will discover the Serra de Tramuntana and two of the most beautiful villages in Mallorca. The route starts in the town of Sóller, where you will discover the authentic Mallorcan atmosphere.


From here it climbs up to the Mirador de Ses Barques viewpoint, which offers incredible views to the Port of Sóller, and continues to the pretty village of Fotnalutx, which conserves all the charm of yesteryear. The route lasts between two and three hours, with a medium difficulty.
